Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of the website. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a search constitutes agreement to all terms stated here. Anyone who does not agree must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is unaffiliated with federal, Georgia, or Carroll County government. Neither the website nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance eligibility, tenant screening, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its role is limited to directing visitors to Carroll County and Georgia criminal-record resources. It is neither a private-investigation service nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is an independent private reference site, not a government office. It does not retain official criminal records, retrieve official files, perform official background checks, or submit documents on a visitor's behalf.

The content identifies custodians of Carroll County records, including the sheriff's records unit, criminal courts, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Georgia Crime Information Center, and the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. It may also link to outside research tools. Access to Georgia agency records remains governed by laws such as the Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 et seq., and GCIC dissemination provisions in O.C.G.A. §§ 35-3-34 and 35-3-35.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

  • Violate a local, Georgia, or federal law
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate another person with information found here
  • Use website content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any website system
  • Direct bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools at these pages
  • Interfere with website performance or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from these pages or a linked tool must not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct is prohibited and may violate criminal law. This restriction is especially important for Georgia Sex Offender Registry data. Georgia law limits misuse of registry information, and conduct aimed at a listed person can carry penalties. Registry access supports community safety awareness, not vigilantism or discriminatory action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no credit report, background check, or consumer report. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer linked services for applicant screening, rental decisions, insurance pricing, or credit evaluation. You must not use data from this website or a linked tool to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a tenant or housing application
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

When a legally permissible purpose requires an official check, follow the authorized Georgia Crime Information Center process or use a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is informational and is not legal advice. General explanations of Carroll County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, sealing request, or Georgia record restriction rule applies to a particular case. Consult a Georgia-licensed attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All website content and functions are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • Information will always be complete, accurate, or current
  • Service will remain available without interruption
  • Pages will contain no defects, errors, or security weaknesses
  • An outside search provider's results will be complete or correctly matched

Criminal records can change as charges are filed or dismissed and records are sealed or restricted. Updates may lag, and gaps can occur. Nothing published here is an official statement from a court, sheriff, GCIC, or another government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Georgia agencies, legal-aid groups, and outside search services. Those destinations are independently operated. We do not control their content, data practices, prices, or availability and accept no responsibility for them. Review a destination's terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Carroll County Criminal History or its content partners own the website's text, graphics, logos, and code. Copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from website use, including reliance on information obtained here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your website use or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Georgia law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in the State of Georgia.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated version is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be modified only to the extent needed for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
